Christmas is one of the most joyful times of the year. There are lights everywhere, festive music, and a feeling of excitement in the air. But for me, as a Christian woman who loves God deeply, Christmas has always meant something much more. It’s a celebration of the birth of Jesus, our Savior, who came to bring hope, peace, and salvation to the world.
Sometimes, though, I feel like the real meaning of Christmas gets lost. It becomes all about gifts, big meals, and making sure everything looks perfect.
Did you know that December 25 isn’t even the actual date of Jesus’s birth? It was chosen as a holiday much later and sometimes feels like it’s more about shopping than celebrating Jesus.
As a mom, I try to keep this in mind, but I also want my kids and family to enjoy the season. So, I celebrate with them, but I always remember the true reason for Christmas: the amazing gift of Jesus.
The Most Wonderful Gift: Jesus
Imagine this: God sent His own Son, Jesus, to be born as a baby, just like you and me. This wasn’t just any baby; He was the Savior, sent to show us how much God loves us. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
That’s a big deal! And that’s what we’re really celebrating at Christmas—the day God gave us the greatest gift of all.
